  What is Reiki Healing?

Energy surrounds and is within every living thing on this planet. Reiki healing is a way of drawing upon this universal energy, projecting it through the hands and into the body of the horse/human in order to help release negative energy and restore balance. This rebalancing helps to release physical and emotional tensions, old patterns and blockages. Reiki healing can help to release the pain held within, encourage the healing of bodily tissues and keep the flow of energy around the body clear, strong and healthy.

What Happens During a Reiki Healing Session?

Before any healing starts I take an assessment noting down basic information and brief outline of the problem including any veterinary diagnosis.

During a Reiki Healing session I place my hands where I feel energy is most needed. I often dowse using a pendulum for energy imbalances and use this as a guide for where the horse needs to receive healing. However, the horse will draw in as much energy as it needs and it will go where it is needed most.

During a Reiki session you might notice the following:

  • Sighing
  • Yawning
  • Standing very still
  • Lowering of the head
  • Drooping eyes or even sleepy state
  • Stretching
  • Licking and chewing
  • Deep state of relaxation
  • Dropped or quivering bottom lip
  • Shaking of neck and/or whole body

Following treatment the horse will probably just want to rest and have some peace and quite either in the stable or back out in the field with his pasture mates.

Reiki is a natural therapy and can sit alongside conventional medicine without fear of negative impact.

If you think that either you or horse would benefit from some Reiki healing, please contact me to make an appointment.

It is often beneficial to treat both horse and rider and I have a mobile couch for treating the humans!

I am also able to offer healing to other animals, dogs, cats and family pets.
