The gel is fairly loose in consistency, which helps it to get through the coat down to the skin to soothe itchy raw areas. A little also goes a long way, making this a very cost effective product.

You can also add a few squirts to half a bucket of water, mix well with your hand, and use for sponging off your horse after exercise; an effective way of cooling your horse down and removing sweat.

Summer Relief Gel Plus is based on the same formula as the Summer Relief Gel, but contains a slightly higher percentage of essential oils and the inclusion of garlic oil. This ‘plus’ version of the gel is especially formulated for horses and ponies that suffer badly from the effects of midge bites and need that extra bit of help during this time. Due to the inclusion of garlic oil, this gel is also more suited to particularly midge prone areas of the country. The shampoo is SLS free (Sodium Lauryl Sulphate). SLS is found in most modern day shampoos and cosmetics and research has shown that it can cause skin irritation and hair loss. I have therefore decided to use SLS free shampoo to minimise these risks, especially when dealing with already present skin problems.
